Print and written

I’ve written, commissioned and edited content for print in all of its guises: news and analysis, profiles and features, ghostwriting and thought leadership, data journalism, advertorial, and so on. I’ve also run publications and cross-departmental teams. I had the pleasure of being Editor of CA magazine for ICAS, driving its strategic direction during and out of the pandemic. I won PPA Scotland’s Editor of the Year in 2021 for my client, establishing the magazine’s reputation for delivering top-quality financial and professional services content.

Profiles

I’ve interviewed some real heavyweights during my career. To name just a few: Alastair Campbell, Arianna Huffington, Baroness Lane Fox, Lord Hastings, Sir Ronald Cohen and Dame Inga Beale. Whether I’m writing the profile of an expert in their field, a global executive, or a young professional who's just starting out on their journey, I bring the same attention to detail and dedication to sharing their story with care and unique insight. My profile writing for CA magazine led its content partnership with City AM.

Ghostwriting and thought leadership

I’ve worked closely with senior leaders to share their stories, views and expertise without any compromise to authenticity. I write with authority across complex and nuanced topics, bringing an individual’s personality and flair alive in words. During my time as Editor of CA magazine, I regularly ghostwrote commentary and analysis on topics as wide-ranging as financial services reform and diversity and inclusion for its CEO and annual Presidents, quickly becoming expert in whatever field I tackled.

Data journalism

I hold an economics degree from the University of Oxford, so I’m no stranger to bringing together words and data to create compelling analysis. My degree-level education in financial analysis and quantitative economics means I can find the story hidden within a dataset - and then bring it to life for audiences of varying financial understanding. While data and statistics can be powerful hooks for content, they need to be handled with nuance to ensure you’re telling a bulletproof story.
